James Crimaudo, Seahawks (South River) ‘24

  • vs AACS: win in 2OT, 38 points, 9 3PM

Another unicorn was found in the Capitol Hoops Summer League on the South River Seahawks and was on full display versus AACS. Standing at 6’5” you would think James Crimaudo mainly plays inside the paint but he can extend his game to the outside making him a threat to all defenses. Being an elite three-level scorer he is able to get the first step on most players his size, and slices through the defense with his quickness and physical strength. Versus AACS, Crimaudo’s shooting was the star of the show, he knocked down 9 threes in this game and finished the game with an inspired 38-point performance. He continued to battle with his team all the way to the second overtime where he was the critical factor in the win.

Tey Barbour, Patriot ‘24

  • vs Tech Prep: 30 pt, 10 reb, 3 ast (8-15 FG, 4-10 3FG, 10-12 FT)
  • Win secured playoff berth at 6-4

In a game where Patriot needed a win in order to clinch their spot in the playoffs, Tey Barbour and the Pioneers stepped up. Barbour led the way with a season-high 30 points, making over half of his field goal attempts and converting at the free throw line, to go along with 10 rebounds and only one turnover in 25 minutes. Barbour has a strong 6’5” frame and a silky jumper that allows him to score at all three levels, pushing him to 19.9 ppg on the season, ninth in the league.

Evin Thompson, Warriors (Sherwood)

  • vs The Heights: 27 pt, 13 reb, 8 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk (7-15 FG, 10-11 FT)

While the Warriors of Sherwood ultimately came up short in their pursuit of reaching the playoffs, they were able to secure an important victory over The Heights. Evin Thompson played a key role in the win with a performance where he was only two assists shy of a triple double. More impressively, he scored 27 points on efficient splits, and contributed on the defensive end with 2 steals and a block. Thompson found success with his high motor and ability to attack the rim. The guard also does not back down from contact, leading to 11 free throw attempts, converting 10 of them.

Kobe Davis (courtesy of Josh Campbell)

Kobe Davis, Flint Hill ‘25

  • vs DeMatha: 25 pt, 4 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk
  • vs Good Counsel: 30 pt
  • vs Annapolis Area Christian: 34 pt, 9 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl (13-20 FG, 3-5 3FG)

A bright light on this Flint Hill team has been Kobe Davis, their 6’2” guard who is a rising junior and a defense’s nightmare. He is a high-level scorer who has produced at a superstar level for Flint Hill all year long with four 20+ point performances while only playing in 7 games. Two of these showcases were 30-point outbursts and they came in back-to-back matches. When faced against AACS he had the game of his life and exploded for a nearly 34-point double-double and shot very efficiently from the field. He has wonderful defensive potential with a 6’2” stature, lengthy limbs, and a quick first step which can put him in the right spots on the defensive end. He is a young player, and has the potential to become one of the best scorers in this summer league come next year; keep your eye on Kobe Davis.

Dekevion Moore, Forest Park ‘24

  • vs Mt. Zion: 21 pt, 4 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk (8-13 FG, 2-4 3FG)
    • GAME-WINNING BUZZER BEATER
  • Win secured chance at playoff berth at 5-5

Every kid dreams of knocking down a shot to win the game as time runs out on the clock and you feel like a hero, while your teammates rush the floor and carry you off in victory. Well for Dekevion Moore, that dream became a reality versus Mt. Zion on Monday. Moore not only hit the game-winning shot, but he also had his season-high in points while doing it. He scored 21 points on 61% shooting from the field, 50% from three, and snagged 2 steals to propel his team to a win. However, this win meant more to his team because it saved his team’s season by granting them a spot in the upcoming playoffs starting on Tuesday, June 27.

Frankie Mannino, Landon ‘25

  • vs Patriots: 32 pt, 5 reb, 2 stl, 2 blk (10-12 FG, 12-13 FT)

While it has been an up-and-down regular season for Mannino and Landon, finishing 5-5, the squad finished strong in a must-win game against the Patriots, thanks in large part to Mannino. In the lone game of the week to clinch a potential playoff appearance the rising junior had his way. Contributing 2 steals, 2 blocks, and 5 rebounds while scoring 32 points on efficient splits, the Patriots struggled to find an answer for Mannino. Ultimately, Landon ended up earning the 23 seed in the playoffs.

Diego Joy, Lanham Christian ‘26

  • vs Fairfax Christian: 14 pt, 4 reb, 2 ast, 4 stl
  • vs  Severn: 35 pt
  • 2-0 record, secured playoff berth at 6-4

Helping Lanham Christian clinch a playoff berth, Joy secured a spot on this week’s POTW list following impressive contributions on both ends of the floor. Despite being a rising sophomore, Joy has served as an important piece of Lanham Christian’s offense with his ability to get downhill in transition and provide scoring chances in half court sets. After averaging 24.5 points for the week, including a 35 point performance against Severn, look for Joy to continue his impressive offensive performances come playoffs.

Eli Croskey (courtesy of Josh Campbell)

Eli Croskey, Annapolis Area Christian ‘25

  • vs Grace Brethren: 20 pt, 6 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl, 1 blk
  • vs Clarksville: 22 pt
  • vs Seahawks: 32 pt
  • vs Flint Hill: 23 pt, 8 reb, 5 ast, 3 stl

Eli Croskey is the leader of an AACS team that has struggled as of late but his level of performance is anything but that. He has been averaging 24.2 points over the past four games and has been working nicely with the other half of the AACS duo, Donte Holmes, who has been putting up 15 points a game. Croskey is an aggressive guard who looks to get downhill and gets to the charity stripe like a pro. Over the last two games, he’s made it to the line 14 times and versus Flint Hill, he put together his complete game. He had 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, as a 5’11” guard showing heart over height, and only had 1 turnover while being the main ball handler. He had been averaging the most points on his team, with 17.4 a game, and I would look out for him when the regular season comes around in December.

Micah Samuels, Takoma Academy ‘25

  • vs The Brook: 7 pt, 7 reb, 4 ast, 5 stl, 5 blk
  • vs Sandy Spring: 4 pt, 7 reb, 4 ast, 6 stl, 4 blk

One of the more unusual stat lines we’ve seen, Samuels makes an appearance as a POTW with his all around contributions. Against The Brook, Samuels came up one assist shy of the league’s first 5 by 5 performance. The Takoma Academy standout was  a menace on defensive end, averaging 5.5 steals and 4.5 blocks. While Takoma struggled during their summer league campaign, expect a major bounce back from Samuels and his squad this winter.

Adrien Stevens, Bullis ‘25

  • vs Brandywine Boyz (Gwynn Park): 25 pt, 6 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk (10-15 FG)
  • Win secured No. 1 seed

While many players contributed to Bullis’ undefeated season, Stevens has been a standout in his own right. In Bullis’ lone game of the week to seal a perfect regular season against the Brandywine Boyz, Stevens dominated. The rising junior shot an efficient 66% from the field for 25 points while also contributing on the defensive end. Stevens and Bullis will look to continue their dominance into the playoffs and secure a Summer League title.
