Webb also contributes on the defensive end with his quick hands, averaging 2 steals a game (when steals are recorded). During week three, the Warriors of Sherwood went 2-0 thanks in large part to Webb averaging 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Martin Somerville, McNamara ‘24

  • vs Sandy Spring: 21 pt, 5 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk (6-8 FG, 2-3 3FG)

He even had a performance in which he scored 32 points shooting 75% from three on eight attempts. Averaging 16.7 points a game, the ‘24 guard holds a C-RAM score of 10.3 (16th in the league) which qualifies him for ‘superstar’ status, according to Cerebro Sports. He is also tied for ninth in the league in Pure Scoring Prowess, with a score of 81 (minimum 10 min/game).

Not many players play with more passion than Evin Thompson. Thompson is a bulldog on the court, leading the Warriors to a 2-1 record this past week. Thompson likes to play his game in transition and off the dribble for the Warriors. Thompson and Micah Webb, who also made the list for Players of the Week, have formed a backcourt tandem for the Warriors, which has kept them in the playoff hunt.

Cam Ward, R.W.E. Lions (Largo) ‘25

  • vs Tenley Tigers (Jackson Reed): 23 pt, 8 reb, 4 ast, 1stl, 1 blk
  • vs Bulldogs (Churchill): 29 pt, 16 reb, 9 ast, 2 stl

Continuing his dominance with two 20+ point performances against the Bulldogs of Churchill and the Tenley Tigers of Jackson Reed, Ward returns as one of the Players of the Week. Despite Ward’s numbers regressing from his amazing two game start, he has still been a force to be reckoned with, getting to his spots and being a huge contribution for the R.W.E Lions of Largo. Since the start of summer league, Cam Ward has steadily led the league in C-RAM, holding an astounding score of 17.4 (out of 10+).

Mayo has proven to be lethal when given space, tallying 9 threes in the past two games. He is also tied for the sixth best 3-Point Efficiency (3PE) in the league with a score of 91 and tied for seventh in Pure Scoring Prowess (PSP) at 81 (min. 10 min/game and 3 games played). Kley was dominant in the interior, doing most of his scoring within 15 feet, but he also showcased his ability to space the floor and knock down a few threes. Kley does a good job of leading the break for The Heights and finding his teammates.

In Bullis’ lone game of the week, Boston came to play. One of the league’s top playmakers, Boston is tied for fifth in Floor General Skills (FGS) with a score of 72. Lucas Sekasi, Tenley Tigers (Jackson Reed) ‘24

  • vs R.W.E. Lions (Largo): 14 pt, 9 reb, 10 ast, 2 stl

Sekasi makes the Players of the Week list for the second straight week after posting a near triple-double against the R.W.E Lions. Sekasi did a good job of setting his teammates up, tallying ten assists. Sekasi has been equally impressive on the defensive end, averaging 2.1 steals this season as his length has bothered opposing guards. He has continued to dominate his opponents in summer league, holding the league’s third-best C-RAM score at 12.6, as well as the best FGS score at 79.

Neiko Mundey (courtesy of Josh Campbell)
  • vs Vikes (Whitman): 18 pt, 4 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl
  • vs Fairfax Christian: 20 pt, 2 reb, 1 stl

Mundey proved why he is one of the better scorers in CHSL this year, averaging 19 points on 44.4 percent shooting this past week. Mundey is an explosive athlete who has a great first step, allowing him to create off the dribble. Mundey is only a rising Sophomore but is one of the leaders for a Good Counsel who is on the bubble for a playoff bid.
