Cam Ward, R.W.E Lions (Largo) ‘25

  • vs The Heights: 41 pt, 22 reb, 4 stl, 3 blk 
  • vs McNamara: 40 pt, 12 reb,1 stl 

 

Ward has been dominant to start the summer league. Using his 6’7″ frame, Ward has been a two-way star for the R.W.E Lions. Ward has posted back-to-back 40-point performances to go along with double-digit rebounds.  (photo above, courtesy of Chris Souvenir)

Ty Bevins, Brandywine Boyz (Gwynn Park) ‘24 G

  • vs Sherwood: 27 pt, 6 reb, 4 ast, 1 blk, 2 stl 
  • vs New Hope: 20pt, 8 reb, 5 ast 

 

Bevins showcased why he’s one of the better players in the league this first week. Bevins anchored Brandywine Boyz offensive attack and has led them to a 2-0 record. Bevins is a bigger guard that uses his size to his advantage to get downhill and finish around the rim.

Jake Tringone (‘24) Sandy Spring 

  • vs Clarksville: 27 pt , 12 reb, 5 ast 
  • vs Tech Prep: 15 pt, 15 reb, 3 blk 
  • vs Gaithersburg 24pt, 17reb, 5 stl, 2blk 

 

Sandy Spring is one of three teams to start summer league 3-0. Jake Tringone is a big part of the success thus far for Sandy Spring, averaging 22 points and 14.7 rebounds. Tringone has been impressive in the low post and equally as impressive on the defensive end, tallying six steals and five blocks over three games.

Jordan Scott (‘25) South Lakes 

  • vs St. Mary’s Ryken 20pt, 6 reb 4ast 
  • vs Riverdale Baptist: 25 pt, 4 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 2 blk 

 

Scott is averaging 22.5 points on efficient shooting, 59% from the field. Scott has great length, which allows him to effect passing lanes and help him finish at the rim. He can score at all three levels, knocking down 5 threes in two games for South Lakes.

Sean Donovan (‘24) Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) 

  • vs Patriot: 24 pt, 11 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl 
  • vs Vikes (Whitman): 12 pt, 10 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl 

 

The Cavaliers offense runs through Sean Donovan. Donovan has been a monster down low, posting consecutive double-doubles. Donovan has quick feet and good handle to go along with his 6’7″ frame. Donovan led the Cavaliers to a dominant opening win against Patriot and followed up with another win against the Vikes.

Jack Furman (‘24) Riverdale Baptist 

  • W vs Flint Hill: DNP
  • W vs SSSA: 24 pt, 5 reb, 2  ast, 1 blk
  • W Vs South Lakes:18 pt, 4 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl

 

Furman has started his summer league campaign on fire so far. Through two games so far this season, Furman has come out shooting lights out. Averaging 21 points a game on an outstanding 45.5% from the three-point line,  Furman has played a major part in Riverdale Baptist’s 3-0 start to their season.

Christopher Henderson (‘24) Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) 

  • W vs Tech Prep: 29 pt, 7 reb, 3 ast, 4 stl
  • W vs Trojans (Gaithersburg): 14 points, 3 ast, 4rebs

Henderson and The Good Fellas of Oxon Hill are on a mission to make up for last year’s 0-10 start. After one week of play, The Good Fellas are currently standing undefeated thanks in large part to Henderson. Currently averaging 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds a game through two games, Henderson has put the Good Fellas on his back so far this season.

Jeremiah Smith (‘24) Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) 

  • W vs Tech Prep: 20 pt, 12 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl, 2 blk
  • W vs Trojans (Gaithersburg): 13 pt, 4 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl, 1 blk

 

Like Henderson, Jeremiah Smith has played a huge role in the Good Fellas’ success so far this season. Averaging 16.5 points on 64% shooting from the field along with 8 rebounds, Smith has been a menace in the paint which has helped the Good Fellas start their summer league campaign with a bang.

David Bumpass (‘25) Tech Prep 

  • L vs. Good Fellas (Oxon Hill): 26 pt, 2 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl
  • L vs Sandy Spring: 24 points, 11 rebounds, 2 stl, 1 blk

 

Despite the 0-2 start to the season, Bumpass has come out to play at this year’s summer league. Averaging an impressive 25 points and 6.5 rebounds a game, expect Tech Prep and Bumpass to make a turnaround and make a push for the playoffs.

Elijah Flowers (‘25) Potomac School 

  • W vs John Carroll: 20 pt, 7 reb, 3 blk, 3 stl
  • L vs Churchill: 18 pt, 11 reb, 2 stl, 2 blk
  • L vs Lanham Christian: 22 pt, 13 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk

 

So far this season, Flowers has been nothing short of a stand-out player. Doing it all for Potomac School, Flowers has kicked off his campaign averaging a 20-point 10.3-rebound double-double. Expect Flowers to continue putting impressive stat lines throughout the summer.
