The Heights VS Bulldogs (Churchill) 70-72:  On the eve of the regular season finale the first slate of games were nail biters. The Heights vs The Bulldogs definitely had a game seven type atmosphere which started right from the tip. Both teams were playing with a heavy chip on their shoulders in the first half. The Bulldogs closed the half with a nine point lead against the WCAC school. In the second half the intensity picked up and The Heights managed to cut the nine point lead to two. During the second half it got a little chippy with talking back and forth among the two teams which eventually led to two technicals called on the Bulldogs. Despite the minor setbacks the Bulldogs prevailed with the victory despite a last ditch effort to tie the game at the end by The Heights 72-70.

Dematha VS Georgetown Prep (61-59):  A classic matchup between two of the DMV’s legendary programs Dematha VS Georgetown Prep. This game became one of the games of the night due to the playoff seeding implications for both squads. The first half was intense with the Stags and the Little Hoyas trading baskets early making it a competitive game early in the first half. Despite trading baskets early Dematha ended up taking a 5 point lead in the first half. The second half played a different story for the highly competitive game. Georgetown Prep started to pick up some momentum and at one point took the lead to almost seal the win. However, the magic on Madison Street still lies with the Stags with them hitting a game winning three to stay undefeated in the league.

McNamara VS St. Mary’s Annapolis (73-69): For our third slate of games in the evening was a little more of a surprise on how close and competitive it became. Mcnamara VS St. Mary’s Annapolis definitely gave us an interesting game to remember. For the first half Mcnamara looked like they had control of the game’s pace, but St. Mary’s Annapolis kept hanging around keeping Mcnamrara on its toes. The second half proved to be a back and forth affair between the teams which lead up to the game being decided by the final seconds with St Mary’s Annapolis hitting a game winning three and a pair of free throws to complete their comeback and seal the win.
