St. Mary’s Ryken vs Tenley Tigers (Jackson Reed)

After a back and forth first half, Tenley Tigers pull away against St. Mary’s Ryken and win 55-42. 

Jayden Fort (‘25, F) got the scoring going with a top of the key three for the Tenley Tigers. Noah Rogers (‘24, G) answered with a three of his own for St. Mary’s Ryken. Rogers continued to strike from behind the arc, hitting three shots from behind the arc in the first half.  

Despite the hot start from behind the arc, this game was mostly played in transition in the first half. Jayden Fort and Justin Gilmore (‘24, G) were in passing lanes and getting loose balls for the Tigers. Gilmore was able to convert a lot of his steals into easy layups, scoring eight first half points. The defensive effort from the Tenley Tigers gave them the lead going into the half, 24-20. 

In the second half, St. Mary’s Ryken couldn’t keep up. The Tigers continued to be disruptive on the defensive end, with Joe McRae (‘24, G) anchoring the Tigers defensively with four steals.  The Tigers as a unit forced 26 turnovers, which was the difference in the game. 

It was a balanced attack on the offensive end with three Tigers notching double-digits. Lucas Sekasi (‘24, G) also added to the mix with eight points and seven rebounds.  

The Tenley Tigers will try to stay undefeated as they face a difficult Mt. Zion team this Thursday. St. Mary’s Ryken will have a big opportunity to bounce back with a double-header this Friday against South Lakes and New Hope Academy.
